She leads the Oxford Placental Imaging Team and has led the research on automated ultrasound imaging of the placenta. Her team have developed the technology over the last 15 years. Additionally, she has co-authored national and international guidelines for diagnosing and managing PAS.
Prof. Sally Collins is a distinguished expert in obstetrics at the University of Oxford. She specializes in placental imaging and the management of placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) disorders and is acknowledged as among the top global experts in this field.


Basak has been the Chair of the PPI panel supporting the clinical research for more than 6 years and consequently has been involved in the development of the Oxailis innovation. She is passionate about improving maternity outcomes for women worldwide having had personal experience of significant pregnancy complications.
Prior to her current roles, she was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Oxford University Centre for Corporate Reputation. Basak’s research lies at the intersection of strategy, entrepreneurship, and innovation, with a particular focus on how firms navigate complex strategic landscapes. Her work has been published in leading academic and practitioner journals, including Harvard Business Review and Perspectives, and has been featured in prominent media outlets such as Forbes, Sky News, BBC Radio 4, The Telegraph, and Money Week.
Prof. Basak Yakis-Douglas is an Associate Professor of Strategy at King’s College London. She is also an Associate Fellow at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. She holds a PhD in Strategy from the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School and a Master’s in Analysis, Design, and Management of Information Systems from the London School of Economics.


Sam is a consultant Obstetrician at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Maternity Lead for Digital Implementation and Divisional Medical Informatics Lead. He was PI on the OxPLUS study and is completing a DPhil in the clinical utility of our technology.He has unique experience of designing and running large studies using Oxailis' technology and has vision for its translation to multiple clinical fields.
Dr Sam Mathewlynn A clinical academic and lead for digital transformation at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Sam has completed a Topol Fellowship in digital health, which led to ongoing work with the National Centre for Maternity Improvement as a Fellow for Future Development. He has also been admitted by peer review as a member of the Faculty of Clinical Informatics. He has unique experience of designing and running large studies using Oxailis' technology and has vision for its translation to multiple clinical fields.
